General Description | This coin was struck when Canada was still a province of the British Empire. Called 1 Sou because of its French coin counterpart. In 1852 the Quebec Bank was the only one allowed to order coins from the City Bank to commemorate the Lower Canadian rebellion from the Patriotes of 1837. |
