| General Description | Riviera Principality N.D. (1996) 3 Dollars. The Riviera Principality was a short-lived state that was in existence from 1994 until 1998,when it ceased to exist,due to bankruptcy. The Riviera Principality was located in the Marlborough region near Blenheim at the top of New Zealand's South Island. Some of the coins have turned up,but very few notes have ever turned up - making them extremely rare. These are the first plastic banknotes that were ever put into circulation anywhere in New Zealand. |
