General Description Designed by celebrated Canadian sculptor and coin designer Emanuel Hahn (1881-1957), the caribou head on the 25 cent circulation coin was introduced into Canadian circulation coinage in 1937 as a way to modernize coinage. Unchanged since it's creation, this design has been chosen to be featured on the smallest gold coin ever offered by the Royal Canadian Mint.
Front Description Left facing caribou head with the country on the left and the date on the right and 25 Cents between the antlers. A fine beaded border circles along the edge of this coin. The edge of the coin is reeded.
Back Description Right facing updated image of HRH Queen Elizabeth II graces this side of the coin. Elisabeth II is on the left and D.G. Regina is on the right. The mint mark is below. This gold coin is virtually a golden miniature replica of the 2010 circulation quarter measuring at 23.88mm vs. this coin's 11mm diametre
