General Description | Composition: 94% steel, 3.8% copper, 2.2% nickel plating 25-cent circulation coin commemorating the 50th birthday of the universally recognized Canadian flag. The coin was unveiled 9 june 2015 at centre field in Toronto's Varsity Stadium, before the kick-off to a CFL exhibition game between the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Out of a total of mintage of 12.5 million coins, 6.25 million will be coloured, and an equal number will be non-coloured. |

Blunt's version recalls the effigy of George VI, who also chose to be portrayed without a crown. |
