General Description The 1966 Dollar was the last circulating silver Voyageur Dollar. From 1968 until 1986 similar Dollar coins continued to be struck for circulation, but of nickel with no silver content.
In 1972 the Voyageur silver Dollar was only struck in Specimen quality, and came in black imitation leather boxes.

Rev. Description A Voyageur (back) and an aboriginal (front) traveling in a birch canoe paddling next to an island with the Northern Lights in the background.
