General Description | In Canada a dime is a coin worth ten cents. It is the smallest (in physical size), it symbolizes both the magnitude of the fishing industry and the maritime skills of Canadians. The Bluenose was not only a racing schooner, but also one of the great fishing vessels that helped build the reputation of the Grand Banks fishery. The mintage include both types of 2006. |
Obv. Description | Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 77 years old, surrounded by the inscription ELIZABETH II D G REGINA. The effigy is reminiscent of that of her father, His Majesty King George VI, who had elected to forgo the crown. Mint mark below the effigy. |
