General Description Back to the original design after the war.
Since 1942 to 1962 the 5 cents coin featured 12 sides to distinguish it from the one-cent coin.

Father of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, his effigy appeared on Canadian coins from 1937 to 1952. His effigy is surrounded by the Latin inscription GEORGIVS VI D:G:REX ET IND:IMP:
