Kingdom of Italy-Regno d'Italia 1805-1814

The Kingdom of Italy was born on March 17, 1805, when the Italian Republic, whose president was Napoleon, became Kingdom of Italy, with Napoleon as King of Italy, and the twenty-four years old Eugène de Beauharnais as viceroy. Napoleon was crowned in Milan’s cathedral on May 26, with the Iron Crown of Lombardy.
