General Description | Somaliland 1994PM 1 Shilling. This coin was the very first coin of the independent Republic of Somaliland. This coin is also the only Somaliland coin to be put into circulation during the last years of the 20th. Century. This coin is also the only Somaliland coin that has a mintmark. The '/-' sign reflects the fact that the Somaliland Shilling is as much a descendant currency from the old East African Shilling as the Kenyan Shilling,the Tanzanian Shilling,& the Ugandan Shilling are. |
