Front Description : | Regional Command (South) is a multinational military formation, part of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. It is responsible for provincial reconstruction and security in Kandahar, Lashkar Gah, Qalat and Tarin Kowt. The Command also has responsibility for the provinces of Nimruz and Daykundi. It's Afghan National Army partners are the 205th Corps (Afghanistan) and the newly forming 215th Corps (Afghanistan). The command of the region is rotating among Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The headquarters is located in Kandahar. |
Back Description : | HE CANADIAN GRENADIER GUARDS (Montréal Québec Canada) On a grenade enflamed of seventeen points, two monograms of the letters ER respectant, ensigned by the Royal Crown The crown and cypher customarily change with each succeeding monarch and they represent service to the Sovereign. The grenade, named for its similarity to a pomegranate, was a small bomb composed simply of a hollow iron ball filled with explosive and detonated with a simple fuse. It gave rise to a type of infantryman called a Grenadier who was specially trained and equipped for throwing grenades. |
