General Description : | Tear-shaped bronze medal with loop for ribbon suspension. The medal was instituted by Decree 504 on 11 August 1964 to mark the 20th anniversary of the coup led by King Michael with the support of the army and opposition parties that overthrew the Antonescu regime and led to the Romanian army (which had been fighting alongside German forces in Russia since June 1941) joining the Red Army in driving German forces out of Romania and back across Hungary, Austria and Czechoslovakia. |
