50th Anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party

General Description :	The medal was instituted in 1971 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Romanian Communist Party. The Party was founded in 1921 but had little influence and fewer members until the arrival of the Soviet Red Army in Romania in 1944. The Party was disbanded in 1989.
Front Description :	Circular gilt bronze medal with loop for ribbon suspension; the face with a circular central red enamel medallion bearing the symbol of the Romanian Communist Party (Partidului Comunist Român) within a gilt and white enamel panelled ring with a rayed border.
Back Description :	Inscribed ‘A 50 A ANIVERSARE A PARTIDULUI COMUNIST ROMAN’ centrally, dated ‘8 MAI 1971’ on a ribbon below, within a laurel wreath border
