General Description : | Shield-shaped gilt bronze and red enamel badge of multi-part construction. The Order was instituted in 1948 in three classes to reward merit, especially in the field of work but in the event was awarded for achievement in a wide number of fields. In 1965, when the name of the state was changed to the Romanian Socialist Republic, the letters RSR replaced RPR. Unlike many Communist-era eastern European awards, those of Romania are usually of good quality manufacture. |
