General Description : | French-Romanian Company for Air Navigation. This was the first airline in Romania, the first multi-national airline and the first transcontinental airline. At the end of World War I, during the negotiations preceding the signing of the Treaty of Trianon (1920), the idea of an air route between Paris and Bucharest was suggested by the great Romanian diplomat Nicolae Titulescu, his French counterpart, General Maurice Duval. Following this idea into being on April 23, 1920 French-Romanian Company for Air Navigation, the first global company transcontinental air transport of passengers, freight and mail. |
