General Description : | Instituted on May 24th, 1872, as the first military decoration for the Romanian Army, with the authorization of the High Porte, obtained by Prince Carol after his visit in 1866 in Constantinople. At the beginning, as NCO's for 12 years military service, was extended for awards in two classes, first class for officers and the second for lower grades. A laurel wreath on the upper side is used for to attach the ribbon. Second class, breast badge, silver, has the same design. Both decorations with original ribbon, red moaire with blue stripes on both sides, this ribbon will remain in the history of Romanian decorations, the "Military Virtue" ribbon. |
