| General Description : | The Bucharest Metro is an underground urban railway network that serves the capital of Romania, Bucharest. It first opened for service on 19 November 1979. The network is run by Metrorex. It is one of the most accessed systems of the Bucharest public transport network with a ridership of 172.6 million passengers in 2012 (averaging out at approximately 473,000 passengers per day). In total, the network is 69.25 kilometres long and has 51 stations. |
