General Description : | In 1992 TAROM started an intensive fleet modernization process. In 1992 TAROM bought two AIRBUS A-310, in 1993 two BOEING 737 and three more BOEING 737 in 1994. The Airbus A310 is a medium- to long-range twin-engined wide-body jet airliner that was developed and manufactured by Airbus. Released in 1983, it was the second aircraft to enter production by Airbus Industrie,Note 1 the consortium of European aerospace companies now a subsidiary of Airbus Group. The A310 is a sequel to the original Airbus A300, the first twin-engined widebody airliner. Romanian Air Transport - TAROM - was established on the 18th of September 1954 and a few years later it was already operating to almost all European countries. In 1966 TAROM operated its first flight across the Atlantic and in 1974 its first flight to Sydney via Calcutta and began operating scheduled flights to New York and Beijing. |
