The Marshall Center, dedicated in 1993, is a renowned international security and defense studies institute that promotes dialogue and understanding among the nations of North America, Europe, Eurasia and beyond. The Marshall Center is committed to carrying Marshall's vision into the 21st century.

Front Description : The torch symbolizes leadership, knowledge, and the enduring principles of freedom. The open book and two hands represent cooperation and trust. The laurel branches form a wreath of peace which emphasizes achievement and honor. The motto "DEMOCRATIA PER FIDEM ET CONCORDIAM" appears on the scroll. This means "Democracy through trust and friendship."
Back Description : George Catlett Marshall (December 31, 1880 – October 16, 1959) was an American military leader, Chief of Staff of the Army, Secretary of State, and the third Secretary of Defense. Once noted as the "organizer of victory" by Winston Churchill for his leadership of the Allied victory in World War II, Marshall served as the United States Army Chief of Staff during the war and as the chief military adviser to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. As Secretary of State, his name was given to the Marshall Plan, for which he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953.
