| General Description | Mid-50s was characterized by fundamental changes imminent in the Soviet Armed Forces. The rearmament of the army and navy, the creation of new kinds of armed forces - all this required strengthening of capital construction, and accordingly, the proper targeting of energy and the will of the military builders. One of the factors to mobilize efforts in this direction was the establishment of the order of the USSR Ministry of Defense number 76 of 21 May 1954 the badge "Excellence in military construction." The badge (badge) "Excellence in military construction" instituted by the Minister of Defense of the USSR number 76 of May 21, 1954. The sign (the sign) presents best builders, has shown excellent results in the work: soldiers, sergeants, officers, technical officers and employees of military construction units, organizations and institutions, enterprises, military construction directorates (departments), military districts and the central government, as well as main and central military and civil departments of the Ministry of Defence. Later, by order of the USSR Defense Ministry № 56 dated 9 April 1955, it changed the description of the pin. Instead, it became a bronze made of red brass. At the same time it has been removed and a colored ring around the mark.
