General Description | The Fischbach Chapel is an isolated chapel in the High Fens in Belgium, located a few hundred meters from the hostel of the Baraque Michel and dedicated to Our Lady of Good Help. This chapel was built in 1830-1831 through the intervention of sir Henri Toussaint Fischbach, industrial of Malmedy and born in Stavelot, in gratitude for rescuing his stepfather who, stranded on the moor Fagnarde 1819, was saved by the keeper of the Baraque Michel. Located at 674 m. altitude, this chapel is the highest religious building built in Belgium. |
