General Description | Moose Jaw, a town of about 35,000 residents is located on the banks of the Moose Jaw River, less than 50 miles west of Regina. Moose Jaw downtown area is fairly compact and easy to navigate. Many buildings in the downtown area are decorated with murals depicting the history of town. The downtown main attraction is the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa, which has mineral hot pools filled with water from an underground spring. Other attractions include the 'Tunnels of Little Chicago' dug in the 19th century and used by alcohol smugglers during the prohibition years, the Moose Jaw Golden Nugget Casino and the Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum located just south of town. |
