General Description La forêt de Tronçais is located in the French Allier department. It is mainly made up of sessile oak.[1]
In 2011, it spanned nearly 10,600 ha (26,000 acres)[2] and 130 ha of ponds.[1] It is deemed by many as the most beautiful oakwood in Europe.
L'étang de Saint-Bonnet (44 ha). This natural pond was enlargened at the end of the 18th century to sustain the level of l'étang de Morat.
