General Description : | The National Institute of Radio (NIR in Dutch-INR in French) was founded in 1930. The name was changed into Belgian Radio and Television Broadcasting Organisation in 1960 (BRT in Dutch - RTB in French). Following the federalisation of Belgium, the BRT/RTB were split into a Dutch and a French broadcasting organisation in 1977. At that time the name RTB was changed into RTBf (Belgian Radio and Television Broadcasting Organisation of the French Community), while BRT changed its name into VRT (Flemish Broadcast Organisation) in 1998. |
