General Description : | Bulgaria, like Scotland, is a country in which the bagpipe is considered by many the national instrument. The tradition has always been strong there and remained viable even during the dark years of most of the twentieth century, when Bulgaria suffered foreign occupation, war, and then repressive internal rule. Today the Bulgarian Gaida, in several varieties, and its music is again blossoming. |
