Today Canada Post is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Superman’s debut in Action Comics #1 with a six-stamp issue that highlights his evolving image since he was co-created in 1938 by Toronto-born artist Joe Shuster and Cleveland writer Jerry Siegel, his high-school friend. Superman was co-created in 1938 by Canadian Joe Shuster and American Jerry Siegel. He made his debut in Action Comics #1 on June 1, 1938. By the time Action Comics #4 hit the stands, readers couldn’t get enough of Superman!
