General Description : | From 1905 to the 1970s, the Northwest Territories underwent a number of administrative changes. The Aboriginal peoples also refined their claims and their methods of negotiating with the federal government. In the 1970s, the Inuit argued for the creation of a new political entity, Nunavut, based on their settlement and use of a part of the Northwest Territories. |
