| General Description : | Queen Paola was born on 11 September 1937 in Italy as princess Paola Ruffa di Calabria. She married prince Albert of Liège in 1959. When prince Albert ascended the throne in 1993 as Albert II, Paola became the 6th Queen of the Belgians. This is a joint issue with Belgium. In the background Castel Sant'Angelo is shown, as a tribute to her Roman roots. |
