In addition to his jazz compositions, Duke Ellington is known for his religious works. Beginning his music education at the age of seven, he was influenced by ragtime, but concentrated on jazz. His style has not been copied, although his music continues. Ellington's music has the ability to bring out a variety of emotions, often during the same concert. |
